THE STORY
The story takes place 500 years in the future and the only two super powers to survive were the USA and China

Humanity Has Trashed Earth,
We found new homes in a new solar system with more planets and moons
They were terriformed to as close to earth as they possibly could.
Planets close to the center have high quality tech, while outer colonies have pretty much Wild West level tech.
War broke out many years later, the alliance, forced by the central planets and anyone else who supported them, and the rest fought for the independents, both sides fought hard, but the independents lost in the end, Malcolm Reynolds and Zoe are veterans of that war. They have ship and a crew and travel the system doing jobs for money.

River and Simon are fugitives, Simon for saving his sister, River, from an academy where they were hurting her, River told him to get her out in coded letters. Simon with the help of some others got River out and to Persephone where they boarded Serenity and eventually became part of the crew.

The crew of Serenity has to try and earn a living while trying to keep the ship in one piece, while trying to stay out of the way of the Alliance and the Reavers, hyper aggressive zombies, that fly without core containment, which is suicide.


If you have seen the TV series, Firefly, and/or the movie Serenity, then you should know most of that stuff already, if you haven't, rent or borrow it, or at least the movie, firefly is hard to get by explanation alone, you need to see it to get it.
The roleplay takes place some time between the last episode and the movie. Inara is leaving and so is Book but if the people who are roleplaying them want them to stay they can stay
As a side note, I'll drop the whole Chinese language thing, I don't understand what they're saying, and you probably don't either, and River's safe word is now this is laughter for chickens, in English, rather than before when it was basically the same phrase but in Russian

History: the government messed with her brain, at a government funded academy, until she was broken out by her brother
Other: is very intelligent, what ever she does she is a star student and everything comes to her as easy as breathing is to us

Looks: Long, straight, jet black hair, Bright, intelligent, leafy green eyes. Tall for her age, still wears the alliance uniform she escaped in, but it looks a little more worn now, she has other clothes too, very skinny, she has been eating what ever she can steal, which is not enough for a growing girl.

Personality: Shy, kind and caring, know she doesn't have much time, just wants a normal life, loves animals, learning, and the docks, dislikes headaches, the alliance, needles and small spaces. Misses her family back home on Beaumonde, on a small farm, in the countryside. Has a kitten to keep her company though, she just wants to go home.

History: was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of five, her famliy are simple farming folk, and couldn't afford to try and cure her, some men from the alliance came and told her perants about, this spiecal school for kids like her. it wasn't a school, it was a secret alliance program, and she had just become a subject, The Apollo Project (Apollo was the Greek god of the sun, prophets and archers, back on Earth that was) to make a human that could see the Future, Cassie is that human. She escaped during the confusion when Simon broke River out. stowed away on various ships till she reached Persephone

Other: Can see the future, and is followed around by a little golden tabby kitten called Apollo, who keeps his distance from her, unless one of them is hurt
